Chazy Lake is ideal for fishing, boating, swimming and hiking. A 3.5 mile hiking trail brings its travelers to an open summit and fire tower on Lyon Mountain. Boat launches are available with a hard surface ramp, just of off Route 374, approximately 5 miles west of Dannemora. The boat access has parking for 20 cars and trailers. There is also a beach, ideal for swimming, playing and relaxing, with parking near the dam by Route 374.

Species of fish that can be caught in Chazy Lake include rainbow trout, lake trout, landlocked salmon, small mouth bass, northern pike, brown bullhead, yellow perch, rainbow smelt, and pumpkinseed. The trout and salmon are most commonly found in deep waters in the center of the lake and are stocked regularly. The pike were introduced illegally into the lake. There aren’t many in Chazy Lake, but those that are present can grow quite large.
